Privacy Policy
Stone Axe (including our subsidiary companies as listed at the end of this Policy) (“Stone Axe”, “we”, “us”) understands that privacy and how we collect, use, disclose and protect your information is important to you. We are committed to maintaining the privacy of your information and complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which are contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act). This Privacy Policy explains how we may collect and use any personal information that we obtain about you, and your rights in relation to that information.
1. What is personal information and what do we collect?
Personal information is information that can be used to identify you. Examples of personal information we collect include names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, business information and location.
Stone Axe collects personal information from a range of individuals in the course of its day-to-day business activities, including personal information from:
users of Stone Axe’s websites and social media platforms;
representatives of our suppliers, contractors and customers; and
job applicants.
Generally, we collect personal information directly from the individuals concerned, including by email, correspondence, telephone, via our websites, from your website and from third parties. Our website does not currently use cookies but may in the future.
If you are one of Stone Axe’s ‘business contacts’ (eg. a contact person in one of our suppliers or customers, or in an industry body or other company we deal with), we may collect basic business contact information from you (eg your name, title and work contact details) automatically using the details in your email signature.
Stone Axe will not ask to collect sensitive information about you (such as details of your racial or ethnic origin, political affiliation, religious beliefs, sexual preferences, criminal convictions or health information)
3. How do we use your personal information?
We use your information only for the reasons we tell you when we collect it or as this policy outlines.
Using our websites
When you use our websites, Stone Axe collects certain basic information that is sent by your browser to our websites. This includes information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, language, time zone setting, access times and any referring website addresses. We use various technologies including internet tags, web beacons and logs in order to improve and manage our sites. We do not use them to serve adverts or other promotional materials. Stone Axe may use and combine such passively collected information to improve our websites, customise them based on your preferences, compile and analyse statistics and trends and otherwise administer and improve our websites for your use. Stone Axe may also disclose this de-identified information to third parties.
Job applications
Stone Axe may collect a range of information in a business context, such as your name, gender, job title, photographic identification, email address, home address and other contact details, details of your business and other interests, experience and/or academic and professional qualifications, third party references, communications with you (including notes from meetings), financial and payment information, and information collected from clearance questionnaires and/or interviews.
Business uses
Stone Axe only uses personal information collected from business contacts for the business purpose for which is it was collected, including negotiating and performing contracts, managing accounts and records, communicating with you and third party contacts (including responding to your inquiries and sending information and materials you have requested), and debt administration.
4. Will your personal information be given to anyone else?
Stone Axe does not sell or trade personal information about you to or with third parties. Your Personal Information may be disclosed outside of Stone Axe in the circumstances described below:
to related companies of Stone Axe;
to external service providers appointed by Stone Axe, including our professional advisors (accountants, auditors, legal advisors), website and data hosting providers, technology service providers, advertising and marketing agencies who assist us with promotional activities, and research organisations who conduct research on our behalf. Where we engage external service providers, we take steps to ensure those external service provides comply with the APPs when they handle personal information about you and are authorised only to use personal information for the limited purposes specified in our agreement with them. Where Stone Axe engages external IT service providers, we ensure that wherever possible, our data is stored within Australia. Some of our vendors do however store data in overseas locations, including but not limited to USA, UK and the EU.

5. How do we keep your information secure?
Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our IT systems are password protected and we frequently update our anti-virus software in order to protect our systems (and date contained in those systems) from computer viruses or unauthorised access.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information.
6. Access and correction
You may access the Personal Information we hold about you to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. In most cases, a summary of your personal information will be freely available to you by contacting our Privacy Officer (details below).
You also have a right to opt-out of receiving direct marketing communications from us.
All requests for access to personal information will be handled as quickly as possible and we will endeavour to process any request for access within 30 days after receiving it. Some requests for access may take longer depending upon the nature of the personal information being sought.
In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records.

This Stone Axe Privacy Policy may change from time to time. The Stone Axe Privacy Policy will be made available to anyone who requests it, whether at our offices or by use of our website.
